My Sew Crafty Life is full of great ideas for sewing, quilting, wreath making and crafting all your heart desires. We have tutorials on how to make home decor items on a budget so you can decorate and make your home feel happy and festive throughout the year. So we've finally reached December and I have started decorating for Christmas! I am so excited. This is my favorite time of year! There are so many things I love about the Holidays. First of all Thanksgiving: I hope that all of you had a great Thanksgiving with your Family and Friends. I had a great time. Getting to spend time with the ones we love is always special and it is even more so when you get to spend it with love ones you don't get to see very often.
Now I have started trimming the tree and decking the halls. It usually takes me a few days to complete but it is so much fun and worth it because then I can grab some Hot Cocoa and sit by the Fire and enjoy the Season while looking forward to gathering with the Family again on Christmas Day!

My latest Wood Craft for Fall has been uploaded to You Tube. I have a made a Pumpkin Sign using Regular Paint Stir Sticks, some Paints, Diamond Wrapped Ribbon and other embellishments to make this sign. My take on this Sign was to Glam it up. By using the Diamond Wrap Ribbon I was able to give it a little Shine and Bling. It was so much fun to create. You can make it your own by changing up the colors and embellishments.

It's not too early to start planning your Thanksgiving and Christmas Decor. The stores are already adding their merchandise on the shelves. I know if you are anything like me you have a strict Budget for the Holidays. So getting started early helps me to buy a little each week until I have everything I need.

One of my favorite things to DIY is Home Decor. I love using pieces of wood to make these crafts. I make Wood Signs, Ornaments, Trays, Lanterns and many other decor pieces. The types of Wood that I use can vary. I like to use Wood Blocks, Paint Stir sticks, Craft sticks, Plywood, 2 by 4's, Cedar Pickets and more.
I have started a 3 Part Fall Wood Crafting Series on my You tube Channel. My first Project in this series is a Mini Lantern made with Dollar Tree Tower Wood Blocks. I have decorated it with a small Ribbon bundle on the top to dress it up for Fall. It wood look great on any Mantel or Shelf in your Home. Then when the Christmas Season begins just switch out the Fall theme for a Holiday theme. It's very versatile.

One of my favorite desserts that I enjoy the most is Cheesecake. I love the creamy custardy filling, the crust and savoring every single bite but...
For those of us who choose to eat a low carb diet you probably miss these types of desserts and it can be very difficult to manage those cravings for sweets. But did you know that one of the low carb foods you can have is Cream Cheese? You can still eat that cheesecake with just a few adjustments.
This Cheesecake also has two versions. If you are Keto and can eat Artificial Sweeteners and Almonds you will love this version. If you are Carnivore and only eat Animal products...well I have a version for that too.
Some Tips for Keto/Carnivore Cheesecake:
💖You will need to soften your Cream Cheese. I take the cheese out of the package and leave it out on the counter to soften. It usually takes about half an hour or so. If it isn't that soft after 30 minutes I place it in my stand mixer or you can use a hand mixer. I will put the heavy cream in it and mix the two together until smooth. Then add the rest of your ingredients as written.
💖One other item I put in my Cheesecake is Sugar-Free White Chocolate Chips. This is optional but I wanted to let you know that if you do add them I suggest sprinkling them on top of the cake before you bake it. I have found that when adding them in the batter the chips tend to sink to the bottom instead of suspending within the filling.

Keto Cheesecake
Cheesecake Filling-
2 (8oz packages) Full Fat Cream Cheese - softened
1/3 cup Heavy Cream
3 Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
1/2 - 1 cup equivalent Artificial Sweetener of choice to taste
1/4 cup White or Chocolate Chips (Optional)
Cheesecake Crust-
1 1/2 Cup Superfine Almond Flour
Dash of Salt
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon (Optional)
7 Tablespoons Butter (melted)
2 Teaspoons Artificial Sweetener
Make Crust and press into the bottom of a 9 inch Springform pan. Poor filling over crust and bake at 335 Degrees for about 30-40 minutes depending on your oven temperature as some oven temperatures will vary. Remove from oven when cake is set but still has a slight jiggle in the center. Cool for 30-60 minutes then chill for 5 hours in refrigerator or overnight.
Carnivore Cheesecake
2 (8oz packages) Cream Cheese - softened
1/3 cup Heavy Cream
3 Eggs
1 Teaspoon Vanilla (optional)
1/2 Cup Sour Cream
Stevia (optional)
Poor into a 9 inch Springform pan and bake at 335 Degrees for about 25-35 minutes. Some Oven temperatures will vary.
Remove from oven when cake is set but still has a slight jiggle in the center. Cool for 30-60 minutes then chill for 5 hours in refrigerator or overnight.
One of the things I enjoy the most is Sewing for my Home. Sure, you can buy Potholders and Hot Pads at the store for a fair price but it is so much more enjoyable and affordable to just sew them yourself and you can customize them. You can make them any theme you want or any color. You can also be as creative as you like. This is more enticing to me than a trip to the store to buy them.
These Potholders are made from some scrap fabric I have collected so that is another thing I love about sewing these myself. They are a great scrap buster!
They are easy to make and are a quick gift alternative in a pinch. They would make a great gift for a Wedding Shower along with your other gifts.
I think about making Potholders this time of year because I like to decorate my home for the Fall/Autumn season. I can hang them up and display them or lay them on the Counter. However you choose to show them off you will love this video tutorial on how to make a potholder. So gather up those scraps and have some creative fun!
We are coming up on the Fall and Autumn season and I am super excited. I have to say that I cannot wait for cooler weather. Although, here in the Deep South 70's and 80's is cooler weather to me. I wanted to start off by sharing with you this Tutorial for a simple Fall Swag that is fun and easy to make. You don't even need a whole lot of supplies to make it. All you need is some leftover mesh, a few faux flowers like sunflowers that you may already have from the summer and a mini Christmas Tree from the Dollar tree to use as your base.
